Effective date: October 5, 2026. This policy covers the Even Strength app for Android and iPhone and this website.
Information the app keeps
To build teams, the app needs your roster: player names, positions, skill ratings, jersey numbers, Regular/Spare status, attendance and any notes you type. It also keeps your lineup settings, team names and colours, the current teams and the link of a Google Sheet you imported.
- All of this is stored only on your phone, in the app's own storage.
- It isn't uploaded to us or to anyone else, and we can't see it.
- There's no account, sign-in or profile.
When the app connects to the internet
- Importing from Google Sheets: when you import a sheet by its link, the app downloads that sheet from Google. Google's own privacy policy applies to your Google account and files.
- Google services: the app may load its typefaces from Google Fonts and Google's scripts for opening Google Drive files.
- Balancing, swapping, the Rink Board and sharing as text, image, PDF or print all happen on your phone.
Sharing
Lineups only leave your phone when you choose to share them, for example by pasting the text into a chat, sending the image or PDF, or printing. Whoever receives them sees the team names, player names and numbers you shared.
Feedback and email
If you contact us (for example at app@beyondtherink.org or through the app's feedback form), we receive your name, email address and message. We use them only to reply to you, and we never sell them or add you to a mailing list without asking.
Permissions
The app only asks to open files when you choose to import a roster spreadsheet (CSV) from your phone. It doesn't use your location, contacts, camera or microphone.
This website
This website has no sign-up, no ads and no tracking or analytics cookies. It loads its typeface from Google Fonts. If you tap "Email me at launch", your own email app opens with a message to us. Nothing is sent unless you send it.
Children
The app is meant for adult organisers of recreational hockey. We don't knowingly collect information from children. A roster is kept only on the organiser's phone.
Deleting your information
Everything the app stores is on your phone. Delete players in the app, or uninstall the app or clear its data to remove everything. To have an email you sent us deleted, write to app@beyondtherink.org.

If this policy changes, we'll update it on this page and change the effective date above.
